Despite this warming trend, a significant shift in weather patterns is expected starting tomorrow, bringing rainfall to hilly states from February 8-12.
Northeast India: Cyclonic Activity and Rainfall
The IMD has reported the presence of a cyclonic circulation over northeastern Assam and its surrounding areas. As a result, intermittent to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is expected in Arunachal Pradesh and northeast Assam on February 7, 10, and 11. Over the past 24 hours, several northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Mizoram, have already experienced rainfall.
Temperature Trends in Other Regions
- Northwest India: Minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2-3°C over the next three days, followed by stable conditions.
- Central India: A temperature drop of up to 3°C is predicted in the next two days.
- East India: After three days, a temperature increase of 2-4°C is expected.
- Maharashtra: Minimum temperatures will rise by 2-3°C after 24 hours.
- Odisha: Dense fog may persist in northern Odisha until February 9.
- Himachal Pradesh: Cold wave conditions are likely to continue until February 7.
Rajasthan: Northern Winds Cause Temperature Dip
The impact of cold northern winds has led to a drop in minimum temperatures in some parts of Rajasthan. According to IMD Jaipur center chief Radheshyam Sharma, Fatehpur in the Shekhawati region recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 2.1°C last night. Other notable temperatures include:

- Nagaur: 4.3°C
- Dausa & Churu: 5.6°C
- Lunkaransar (Bikaner): 4.6°C
- Chittorgarh & Pilani: 6.4°C
