πŸ›£οΈ Traffic Update for NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar Highway)

πŸ“… From 06-02-2025 (1700 hrs) to 07-02-2025 (1700 hrs)
Traffic movement on NH-44 was slow due to:

  • Single-lane traffic at Dalwas, Mehad, and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather.
  • Ongoing four-lane construction work.

Important Travel Advisory

πŸš— For LMVs & Passengers:

  • Travel during daylight hours to avoid risks from shooting stones, especially between Ramban and Banihal.

πŸš› For Goods Carrier Operators (HMVs & LMVs carrying perishables/livestock):

  • Follow advisories issued by Traffic Police due to road conditions.
  • Be mindful of single-lane traffic and poor road conditions at Dalwas, Mehad, and Marog-Kishtwari Pather.

⚠️ For HMV Operators:

  • No overloading – ensure your vehicle is not beyond the permissible load limit.
  • Carry sufficient fuel before starting the journey.
  • Check vehicle fitness to avoid breakdowns on NH-44.
  • Only HMVs with 6 and 10 tyres will be permitted via Dhar Road.

⚠️ General Advisory:

  • Avoid unnecessary stops between Ramban and Banihal, especially in landslide-prone areas.

πŸ›£οΈ NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar Highway)

  • Subject to fair weather and road conditions, LMVs (Passenger & Private Cars) and HMVs will be allowed from both Jammu and Srinagar sides.
  • Traffic Control Units (TCUs) at Jammu & Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban for real-time road updates.
  • Stay updated by checking the J&K Traffic Police Twitter handle & Facebook page.

πŸš” Security Forces Convoy Movement:

  • Allowed from both sides subject to weather and road conditions.

πŸ›‘ Other Road Updates:

🚧 Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:

  • Closed for vehicular movement as per advisory from Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag (Order No. SDM/KNG/2024-25/3139-45, dated 16-01-2025).

🚧 Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road:

  • One-way traffic for LMVs, followed by HMVs (up to 6 tyres) with anti-skid chains.
  • Vehicles allowed from Srinagar to Kargil between 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
  • No vehicle will be allowed after the cutoff time.
  • Anti-skid chains are mandatory for better grip on slippery roads.

🚧 Mughal Road:

  • Closed due to snow accumulation, as per District Magistrate Poonch’s order (DMP/JC/7273-92, dated 18-01-2025).

🚧 Bhaderwah-Chamba Road:

  • Still closed due to snow accumulation.
